About Sage

Sage is an idea born from a belief in the power of development to improve our world.

Sage is a group of individuals and companies with diverse experiences spanning 35 years, facilitating billions of dollars in development. We have had many successes, yet we are always learning. Along the way we have become certain of a few truths:

6 years ago, our paths crossed. Although we are from different disciplines, we all shared a similar intent: to leverage our distinct and diverse experiences to help others navigate what is an increasingly complex development landscape.

At this watershed moment, First Nations across the country, for the first time, find themselves with the opportunity to lead major projects. This is an opportunity to advance bold, generational work—grounded in Treaty and inherent rights, and driven by the vision of strong, self-determined Nations. This work rejects short-term thinking and transactional benefits. It is about capacity building and achieving enduring outcomes that support Nation building now and for the seven generations to follow. Sage Development Advisory exists to stand at the Nation’s side in this work. In close partnership with Nations, we help bring clarity, capacity, and strategy to complex projects and opportunities—always led by the goals and priorities of the Nation. 

Through its multidisciplinary expertise, Sage supports Nations in advancing capital projects and partnerships in a way that reinforces sovereignty and long-term economic success. The focus is on maximizing outcomes that are stable, predictable, and intergenerational—outcomes that become the foundation for economic independence and Nation building. Our experience spans every phase of major projects: from early visioning and master planning, through contract negotiation and project administration, to facility turnover. We bring deep expertise in Treaty and inherent rights, economic development, strategic partnerships, grant writing, and government relations. 

We also support Nations with strategic communications, environmental sustainability, and approaches grounded in human wellness. Our role is to walk alongside—offering grounded, strategic support that helps clear the path for Nation-led success. Every step is taken in alignment with the Nation’s direction, values, and vision. 

The work is diverse. The outcomes are lasting. And the leadership remains exactly where it should be—with the Nation.
